"What is inappropriate digital conduct"? A question we hardly ever consider. Digital etiquette or netiquette as it is sometimes referred to, is a basic set of rules pertaining to behavior that needs to be followed to ensure the internet is better for all users. Basically it means "the use of good manners in online communication such as email, forums, blogs and social networking sites" this according to Digital Citizenship, Auburn University.[s.a]
Some examples of inappropriate digital conduct include cyber bullying, wrongful use of humor or sarcasm, sharing/posting inappropriate material, lack of correct grammar and spelling and not citing sources.
Rules are what help society to function efficiently without too many problems. Similarly, there are rules and values that we cannot disregard pertaining online etiquette. Inappropriate conduct has a very huge impact on the society as everyone is living in today's world can be reached harmed by everyone which lead to suicide, job loss , physiological issues ,economical issues. It should be important that appropriate conduct is ti be followed online so that we can live in a world where they is no discrimination and harassment. (www.nolomathumnyane.blogpost.co.za)
